This week has been really good and honestly has gone by so fast! Last Monday was Zone P Day so we got to go up to Mandeville and have a kind-of field day with other missionaries. It was a blast! Got to play Spikeball (which it has been way too long), Ludi (it is basically Jamaican, sorry), and do a little scavenger hunt made by another Elder. After that good day, it was back to work!  We have been meeting a lot of new people with all of the walking we have been doing. We actually met a guy named Mark from the Cayman Islands who is super cool and will try teaching him until he heads back to Cayman. We also got to find where a family in the branch lives! We got dropped off where we thought they were going to be... only to find out it was an hours walk away, haha. So we started walking and didn't know where we were so we told the sister directing us over the phone that we were under a mango tree with a bench. Turns out their house was just up the hill! So we got to meet with them an

Lots and lots of walking

This week has been a lot of walking, as the title says. With the new transfer, it is a great time to really see what needs to be done for the next 5 to 6 weeks. One thing Elder Schneider and I have found is that we need more people to teach. So that means street contacting!! I have been taking to Elder Schneider to areas I have already been and exploring new areas. Junction is a lot of farm land so that means that there is lots of land and few and far houses. It has been a lot of fun and experience!  I got to give Elder Schneider a hair cut! It is only my second time giving a hair cut to someone other than myself but he said he likes it, so that means it is good. 👍 I also got a call from the Lion Man in Mandeville. He calls himself Lion Man, but his name is Malcom. He makes wood souvenirs and often does it for missionaries. We got his number last week and he called us up and asked what we wanted. I, of course, asked for a wooden nativity! I told him finger size, so around 6 inches

Another transfer! So new comp and finally the same area!!

So Wednesday was transfers. That was fun because I got to be a temporary companion with Elder Grant, our zone leader, and drive the Elders who were transferring either to the bus or to their new areas (Zone Leaders get cars... lucky). Then after we got everyone off to their areas we had a good lunch of barbecue fried chicken and rice and peas at Is-a-reel, a Jamaican restaurant, and just enough time to study. After that we headed back to the bus stop in Mandeville to get the new Elders. The truck only has so many seats and we had more Elders coming in than seats available, so Elder Schneider and I taxied back to Junction. Elder Schneider is my new companion and he is actually from Carmichael, California!! Super close, which is crazy! We got to the apartment and Elder Schneider got all settled in and called it a day, it was already 8 at that point.  I have a lot of high hopes for this area and with the little bit of time already with my new companion I am excited! The next couple days

Zone conference! With some surprises

Woah, this week was a blur!  Tuesday started off with exchanges with the Santa Cruz Elders. Elder Chamberlain came here to Junction and hung out with me as we taught in our area. He actually served in Kansas Wichita as well!! He got to Jamaica only a couple months before I started in Kansas, so we had a lot in common to talk about and it was fun. We went to Lover's Leap to teach Mikel again, who is now on date for baptism on the 19th!!! He is so ready and excited for that Saturday! He also got to hear about the Jamaica temple trip for all members on the island on the 29th and he really wants to be able to make it to that!  Wednesday we went to visit Stacy and her family again. We taught about the Plan of Salvation and they really liked hearing about the happiness they can have as a family forever after this life. We are trying to help them find time to read from the Book of Mormon but as most of us know, families often get pretty busy, but they are trying.  That evening I mad

100 days what now?!

Ok, let's get this weekly started! I can't say how good this week felt! It was not perfect of course, but it was amazing. First, I love my mission president, President Odonkor! He is so open with how he wants things done and just wishes the best for all of us missionaries and people in Jamaica. He truly has a love for this mission that I can admire. He also is really funny so that is always a plus. The week started with our interviews, with President, for this transfer which Elder Knight and I made the mistake of having planned lessons afterwards. Needless to say that the interviews went long, as they normally do, and we had to reschedule.  Then Tuesday was my 100th day on the mission!! I couldn't believe it when it came up in my journal entry for the day (I have been numbering every entry). So on my 100th day of the mission we went to Bull Sav again and met with Kirk and his nephew JJ, who has been reading the Book of Mormon! I said last week that we have been focusing o
