I "Crashed" My Bike!

It's been a real quick week! We had zone conference, which is a meeting with a lot of other missionaries, and usually it's in person and everyone looks forward to getting to see everyone that we haven't seen in a while. Well because we are in the Bahamas, other missionaries are in Jamaica and President Odonkor wasn't in either of those countries, we got to have it over zoom. I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited, but it was really good. We talked about how Jesus Christ should be the why behind the things that we do. Then if He is the why behind the things that we do then He will show us how we should go about it. Really cool!  We were riding our bike around for a while one of the days this week and met a guy with his car hood up in his driveway. Elder Lewis goes up and asks if we can help at all and Jamaar, the guy we met, said he didn't need it. Somehow we then got into a deep conversation about God and Christianity. Jamaar really liked what we shared and,

Yo ho, yo ho, a mission life for me

For P day last Monday we got to go to this Pirate museum and it is way cool to learn about how much history pirates have, not only in the Bahamas, but in Nassau. Sadly I learned it wasn't all like Pirates of the Caribbean, but it was cool nonetheless.  We've gotten a lot of rain this week which started us off kind of slow. We also had a lot of stops at the bike shop for repairs but that wasn't all bad because Taea, who we met last week, works there so we get to check up on her and answer any questions she has about God or the Book of Mormon. One day Elder Lewis busted his rear gears and that made it really hard to bike. We were about to start what probably would've been an hour journey, when it started raining. Brother Dean, a member of the Church that has a rental nearby, called us and asked for some last minute help moving some crates of tile. We decided to do that before we tried to bike our way to the shop in the rain. After we helped him out he offered to take us

Most times we just don't know what God has in store

We got back from Jamaica Friday evening and this weekend was insane. Hopefully I can do it justice. When we got back we found out our phone broke, Elder Lewis's bike tire was cut and his tube popped, and we got locked out of our apartment. We were able to replace our phone, it was a holiday so we had to replace the tire and tube on Saturday, and the Elders were coming back to the apartment 2 hours later... so we did what anyone would do, we started walking around. We walked in the area and came across these 3 ladies. Only one stayed for us to talk with her and we had an amazing talk about God, his Prophets, and how God gives us guidance. We introduced her to the Book of Mormon and she was very excited to study it and see how it will add to her testimony of Christ from the Bible. Afterwards we still had an hour and a half so we kept walking. We found a guy at a basketball court and had a really good conversation with him. Then out of nowhere, a group of Haitian guys came up and made

Some good memories

We only had one full day in Nassau. We got to help a member do an oil change and visit a few people before we went off to Jamaica.  First things first in Jamaica was zone conference! We got to stay the night in Port Antonio, I was here about 7 months ago serving. We and 2 other Elders had our rooms given to 4 sisters who ended up staying the night at the hotel as well so we went and got to stay at another hotel nearby that was really, really nice, haha, so I won't complain. Waking up to the Port Antonio Bay brought back some old memories. I love this place, haha. The trainings given and discussions had at zone conference were very good and focused a lot on centering our missionary work around helping others to come unto Christ and to appreciate the gift of repentance. I hope everyone there enjoyed it as much or more than I did.   After the meeting I headed off to Port Maria with Elder Englestead for exchanges. I haven't been with Elder Englestead since I was in Yallahs and
