Mi a be Jamaican deh ya pon mi mission

Lots of mixed feelings this week...some of you may know but it's like being with an amazing group of friends for 4 months, experiencing the good and bad with them, and then leaving to go to the next group. Yep, I'm moving one last time but only half an hour away to join Elder Wilson in Mandeville. It's crazy because we were on an exchange just a few weeks ago!

This week has been one to remember though! Thankfully the rain has calmed down and we got to get to work. There was one lesson we had this week that absolutely blew my mind! There was this family with a mom and two daughters. One daughter is in another denomination and told us when she first met us that she didn't want to listen, then when we gave her a Book of Mormon, she said that she would never read the book. Well, during the lesson we had this last time she read the Title Page, the Introduction, the testimonies of Joseph Smith and the 3 and 8 Witnesses and the brief explanation of the Book of Mormon. Now that is a lot of information before anyone even starts reading the scriptures itself. Well she understood what she read so well and even traced several in depth topics to scriptures in the Bible. Yeah I was blown away and saw such a great change in her attitude about what we share. I asked her what made things different recently and she shared how she learned about how Jesus Christ is light and if we ever reject light we are left in the darkness. She has had that thought on her mind when she thought about what we've shared and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. Then she decided that it'd be better to see if it's light before she rejects it and misses out on what God may be trying to show her. You can probably tell how excited I was afterwards by how much I've written, haha!

We were also able to have the whole District meet together in Manchester for a District Council in-person. For over a year I've had everyone of these meetings over zoom and even though they've been great, I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed it face to face. It really was very uplifting with the discussions prepared. I've seen how chances to meet with others who uplift you really help you to go back out into the world. It's pretty needed sometimes.

This last Sunday was a touching one because there were two people that we've been trying hard to get to come that finally made it! It was great and I know the missionaries left to take care of them will do good! Also the Branch President announced we were leaving and so many people turned around who we didn't tell... yikes haha. We got to bear our testimonies and I have loved my time in May Pen. There has been so much support from the members here and they still have so much work to do to grow here. It'll happen, but God wills me to move, so I will! Oh and at church I did a little "mmhuh" after someone spoke some truth in the Sunday school lesson and two return missionaries in the branch next to us laughed and said "being here has made you Jamaican"! Yep it's official, I'm Jamaican now! Respect! ☝🏿
