General Conference!!!

I officially stayed awake for all 9 hours of the General Conference broadcast! For some it may not be a big accomplishment, and for others you may not even know what that is. Well it has been my fourth one on my mission so I hope by now I've explained it well enough but it's a weekend broadcast where we get to hear from Prophets and Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and its way cool! Don't worry about missing any of it because in a week or so we can all watch it back over whenever. I love General Conference! 

We were able to have a few friends and less active members meet us at the church to watch the broadcast and that was great. I'll say not the most reverent at times, but we are glad they got to see it! 

We also got to have interviews with our Mission President, President Odonkor. I love him and his wife, most of us call her Mommy, so much and it's always good to see them and the best when they help us out and give counsel. I've seen a lot of growth since I first met President Odonkor about 20 months ago. He talked to me about how both him and I are finishing up our full time missionary service soon and how we need to use that as motivation to keep us going! I loved that.

A lot of this week was visiting members. We just keep finding and meeting more brothers from church that haven't been in years! Looks like there's a lot of work cut out for us. We got a picture with two of them, Brother Gordon and Brother Johnson, both Rastas and both awesome!

  Well, I did not know if I was going to write an email while in the MTC but there is a computer right next to the washer that my load of laundry is in so here I am waiting for it to finish. It has been such a cool transition to in-person! Finally got to meet my comp and everyone else in my district and can't believe it's only been 2 weeks that I have been with these friends. The Spirit is so strong here on this Campus! I know the things that I have and will learn here will guide me through my mission and the rest of my life. Leaning on the Lord and less on myself has been the hardest thing for me to apply to my life. More recently though, I have seen the difference it can make in my teaching and learning. There are hard days for sure when I can't stop thinking about everyone at home, but in my own farewell talk I talked about what we would be willing to give for the greatest possession. I will easily give 2 years of my life and many more to my Heavenly Father if it means I

It's been a crazy 2 weeks!

First, we started off with exchanges with the Elders in Freeport. I was with Elder Asay in Nassau so for the first time I didn't have to fly anywhere, phew! We worked really hard here and had a lot of conversations surrounding following the spirit. We had a point where we had open time in our schedule and we were out on the road. We didn't know where we should go or who we should visit but we had the idea to say a prayer right there. Sure enough something I was told when I first got here came to mind. We were told a while back that there was an in-active member that lived behind the church. So we decided to visit and meet them, however we went the "wrong" way over there. We were biking around to find the correct way but met Devardo who was working on his car. We both pulled over and talked with him and he had some things to say! Freeport, Grand Bahamas

Well family and friends, I am in the Bahamas! It's been pretty crazy and I am excited to serve here.  First off we flew in on Wednesday and both of us are new: we had no food, and a less than clean apartment. So you know how that works. We spend a good amount of time shopping (which was an adventure in itself), cleaning, and getting to know the island. Freeport is "big" for an island in the Bahamas but there is very little going on here. It's very, very, very quiet but it's actually really nice. Finding new people has been a whole new ballgame because there's not many people on the streets. So we are back to door knocking! Now this is not the most fun thing to do, but when you don't know the members, don't know the area, and have very little (to no) people being taught ... you have to do something. I'm here in Freeport with Elder Samuels! He was my last AP, a past zone leader, and a good friend so we are so excited to be serving together! We both
