Feel the Thunder

Ok first off we had the craziest lightning storm pass through that I have ever been in in my life! We had driven up into the mountains for about an hour, to visit a new person we are teaching. We were sitting outside his home when we see dark clouds coming over. We thought we would have enough time to finish the lesson and leave but the rain caught us so we all went inside. We continued our discussion, which was going very well, when lightning strikes way way way close! Just a flash and boom! This happens about 3-4 times while we are wrapping up the lesson so both Elder Macfarlane and I are wondering if we should should try to leave. The car isn't parked that far away but it's striking close, we are on a mountain and its dumping rain. Well we talked with him a bit longer and even set a baptismal date for October 7th for our new friend Kevon, and then we make the run for the truck. We realized it was a mistake when we just step outside and boom, lightning strikes close! We started really booking it and nothing else strikes until we are driving away. God definitely kept us safe from our stupidity!

This week has been amazing and we've had a lot of members joining lessons with us. It also feels like we have been giving priesthood blessings with our Elders Quorum President every other lesson some days! We've been visiting a lot of members and it's been cool to see the comfort of just seeing a few of their church brothers visiting brings to them. We also have three guys that are preparing for their missions so we are trying to take them with us teaching as well and they all are pretty excited about that. I'll try to get pictures with them this next week.

We also had exchanges so I got to be with Elder Yates again and it was great! We had Brother Miller and Brother Whyte joining most of the lessons with us that day so we were just a quad of Elders! I'm probably going to be sharing this a lot about how awesome Brother Miller has been in joining lessons with us! He brings an excited spirit that if I'm ever lacking I don't have to worry because he is going to triple it.

Looking forward to another week!
