Back to Montego Bay (as a tourist?...)
This
week was really good! Firstly we have put another friend on date for baptism on
the 2nd of September. She is an unbaptized youth and really, really shy and
quiet, like insanely quiet. She's warmed up a lot to us though and will now say
prayers for us and actually answer our questions! She's excited for her baptism, both verbally and deep down, but she doesn't really show it through her shy
expressions, haha. It'll be good to see how it goes the day of her baptism.
With that Crystal and Henry are doing really well. Henry wants us to teach their dad, who is going through some changes in his life, and they're testimonies of the Atonement of Jesus Christ are just growing every week with the experiences they are having! Dang, I love those two so much!
Also we got to go to Montego Bay for a Zone devotional and that was a trek! We had to drive the day before and also pick up the Elders in Junction on the way. It was about 6 hours of driving and was a fun road trip going through the mountains of Jamaica. There was some crazy downpour of rain, gas station pitstop, church youth album playing, and nuff laughing that my smile was sore. We got to the hotel and found out it was the Deja Resort on the hipstrip in Montego Bay...what?! It was way too much fun and the food was so, so good! The Zone Conference the next day though was even better and such a spiritual upliftment. Focused a lot on our covenants/promises we have made with God through our baptism, receiving the priesthood, and the temple. There's a lot more I can learn about the commitments I've made so I'll be focusing on that! We also made a lot of plans on how we can help others to make commitments and even though others have their choice that ultimately is the deciding factor, there is always so much more that we can do.
We got to play a lot of pickleball today and that was fun as well. Got to meet up with all of the missionaries in our District, there's 10 of us, two of which are Elder Thayne and Sister Thayne, a senior couple, and they are the best! Sister Thayne made chocolate chip cookies! I seriously forgot how incredibly good those things are! It was actually ridiculous how good those things were.
We've been getting busier than ever here in May Pen and honestly I don't know how some of these days actually work out! I always think "wow that was a crazy day, we'll be lucky if we can have one like that again" but then we have an even busier day! It honestly has been very good here and I'm thriving. Usually this is when I leave an area so we shall see if I stay another 6 weeks this next week. Either way I'm happy to have this chance to serve the Lord no matter where it is.
You all have a good week, ok?
