It's been a crazy 2 weeks!
First, we started off with exchanges with the Elders in Freeport. I was with Elder Asay in Nassau so for the first time I didn't have to fly anywhere, phew! We worked really hard here and had a lot of conversations surrounding following the spirit. We had a point where we had open time in our schedule and we were out on the road. We didn't know where we should go or who we should visit but we had the idea to say a prayer right there. Sure enough something I was told when I first got here came to mind. We were told a while back that there was an in-active member that lived behind the church. So we decided to visit and meet them, however we went the "wrong" way over there. We were biking around to find the correct way but met Devardo who was working on his car. We both pulled over and talked with him and he had some things to say! Haha all good things but he has had some crazy experiences lately and we were definitely meant to meet him then and there! Then we ended up finding the house and they're apparently not members but used to come to church. They didn't seem too interested in talking with us but we invited them to come and see everyone at church again. Sadly they didn't show but we will see them again soon.
Now I didn't have to fly for the exchanges that week but later in the week we had a mission conference with the whole mission, so that means another trip to Jamaica! They flew us on Sunday after church and the only flight had us flying through Miami. Our first flight was delayed an hour and a half and we only had a 2 hour layover in Miami. There were some other people flying to Jamaica with us and we were all slightly worried about not being able to make it to the next gate in time. Well, we were definitely looked over as our second flight was delayed by 30 minutes and we made it easily.
The mission tour itself with Elder Alvarado, I believe he is the 2nd counselor in our area presidency, was incredibly good! I walked away having the largest feeling to just love the people more and that I need to do more for them. I really can't describe the feelings I had over those few days but I learned a lot!
There was also a baptism for our friend Andre Whitney! It was great to see it and see his whole family there. I've been teaching them since I got to the area so it was really great to see. The water was, apparently, really cold though but he had a great attitude about it. One of the 15 year old priests also was able to perform the baptism and was pretty excited about that! The next step is getting this family to the temple, so we will be working to help them work towards that.
There were lots of miracles this week and lots of feeling of the Spirit. Sorry I couldn't indulge more on the stories, you may just have to reach out ;), but I hope you all have a great week! Love you all!
