Most times we just don't know what God has in store
We got back from Jamaica Friday evening and this weekend was insane. Hopefully I can do it justice. When we got back we found out our phone broke, Elder Lewis's bike tire was cut and his tube popped, and we got locked out of our apartment. We were able to replace our phone, it was a holiday so we had to replace the tire and tube on Saturday, and the Elders were coming back to the apartment 2 hours later... so we did what anyone would do, we started walking around. We walked in the area and came across these 3 ladies. Only one stayed for us to talk with her and we had an amazing talk about God, his Prophets, and how God gives us guidance. We introduced her to the Book of Mormon and she was very excited to study it and see how it will add to her testimony of Christ from the Bible. Afterwards we still had an hour and a half so we kept walking. We found a guy at a basketball court and had a really good conversation with him. Then out of nowhere, a group of Haitian guys came up and made teams with us for a football game. They put rocks on each end of the basketball court for goals and immediately went into a 4 on 4 game. We joined for a bit and Lavar, the guy we met, joined as well. We left a pamphlet for Lavar and went on our way back to our apartment that the Elders were able to unlock.
So the next day was just as miraculous. We went to go replace the tire and tube for Elder Lewis and met Taea who asked us before we left, "If I were to go about getting baptized, how would I do that?" We had a great discussion with her yesterday and she is so ready to come closer to Christ. It's amazing to see that there are so many people being prepared and you never know how you will bump into them.
Well the rest of the time in Jamaica was really good as well. It was a lot of virtual work, calling people and having video lessons but we made it through and reached out to a lot of people. We had a meeting for the missionary leadership and talked about a talk from Elder Holland called "Feed My Sheep". We made plans to improve our studies, planning, and teaching and how we can be examples of that for other missionaries. It was really good and I'm looking forward to improving. We also had a lot of good food while in Jamaica!
I also got to have exchanges with Elder Scoresby, who was my MTC companion over a year ago. It was a really good exchange despite making phone calls to Nassau most of the day. Good old times!
It's been an exciting week all over the place but we made it! Hope you all have had an amazing Christ centered Easter!
