I "Crashed" My Bike!

It's been a real quick week! We had zone conference, which is a meeting with a lot of other missionaries, and usually it's in person and everyone looks forward to getting to see everyone that we haven't seen in a while. Well because we are in the Bahamas, other missionaries are in Jamaica and President Odonkor wasn't in either of those countries, we got to have it over zoom. I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited, but it was really good. We talked about how Jesus Christ should be the why behind the things that we do. Then if He is the why behind the things that we do then He will show us how we should go about it. Really cool!

We were riding our bike around for a while one of the days this week and met a guy with his car hood up in his driveway. Elder Lewis goes up and asks if we can help at all and Jamaar, the guy we met, said he didn't need it. Somehow we then got into a deep conversation about God and Christianity. Jamaar really liked what we shared and, more so, how we shared because we first offered help as a friend before we offered teaching. It just added to my testimony of trying to love and serve people as Christ would. Also Elder Lewis afterward, ended up helping out anyways haha.

I almost ate it really bad on my bike but somehow landed on the ground pretty safely. I honestly have no idea how because I thought I was going over my handle bars as my right handle caught onto a fence I tried dodging. I made it though and all is good!

We had a lesson with our friend Andrelle who came to church this Sunday and she is amazing. She worked a graveyard shift Saturday night, came to church for the 2 hours, to go to work Sunday night as well! We asked her why she was so committed and she said if she can get up in the morning to work and do other things then she can get up to go to church for God. That whole lesson was translated for us by Sister Char who helps us out a lot. Andrelle is from Haiti so she speaks Haitian Creole and very limited English. So every sentence or so has to be translated in the lesson and it was really a great lesson.

Love you all

Sister Etienne and her boy, Schneider! Met with her family a lot a few months ago

Elder Lewis pumping up one of many leaky tubes. (Patching them in on our to-do list)

Probably never wondered, but this is where we lock our bikes ...
