Some more flying

Got to go back to Jamaica again. I feel like every email I send I just talk about where I flew to this time. It's been crazy and it's been easy to keep ourselves busy.

We have had too many appointments with people that the bike riding has held us back this week from meeting with a few people. Sometimes they're just too far or we don't have enough time.

We had a really great district council this week and part of it was when we talked about how we have seen ourselves grow in charity for others. Charity is the pure love of Christ and I would say that is one of the hardest attributes of Christ to emulate sometimes. Elder Provost, in the district, decided to twist the question a little bit and share how he has seen his companion grow in charity. Sometimes it is hard to see the growth in yourself, especially over only a few weeks. I can promise you that if you are trying to improve that, you are. It was cool to hear the growth that everyone is making and it was cool to hear how Elder Saetre has seen me grow over the last few weeks.

So last Monday (P day) we decided to go to Margaritaville, because we can, and got way too many nachos! It was a good thing we could take it in a box though, that was a blessing. Elder Provost and I also walked down a dock briefly and saw the biggest nurse shark I have ever seen just swimming along the dock with us!

This P day we are traveling and I'm writing my email in Turks and Caicos again while waiting 5 hours for our next flight. We had a mission tour with Elder Nielson, a general authority of the church, and that's why we got to go to Jamaica this weekend. We flew in Friday and stayed at the mission home with President and Sister Odonkor, their two sons Hyrum and Harrold, and the Elders from Freeport. We had the mission tour on Saturday and I learned a lot about how the Atonement can help us to not only be redeemed but to endure. Christ's atonement can help us be forgiven of our sins but it can also help us to continue to overcome temptation. I also learned more on what it means to have charity towards someone. Something that was shared is that there is a difference between tolerating someone or accepting and loving someone for who they are.

A favorite out of all of the great lessons we had this week was with the Whitney's. They have 4 kids, one of which we are teaching and preparing for baptism. Sister Whitney is a great help in these lessons because they can get very distracted sometimes as kids do. This week we taught them about prophets and we realized while preparing the lesson that we had to change things up for them. We planned an activity involving them guessing the number I was holding on my hand offscreen, usually getting it wrong and then Elder Saetre helping them out by showing them the same number on screen. We explained how prophets help us to hear what it is God is wanting to teach us all and without prophets we can't always get it right. It was actually way fun to teach that way, haha. Way different teaching children for sure!

I feel like I just unloaded everything very randomly because a lot happened this week. Brief summary, things are going very well in Nassau. We are working hard while enjoying the work along the way. There isn't a work I would rather be doing. I love you all and hope your next week will be inspiring.
