Exchanges in Sav!

I had the amazing opportunity to go to Sav la Mar for exchanges. I was there for two days and the people and members there are great! The most fun part of it was that it reminded me a lot of my first area in Junction! The highlight was going with a member, Brother Stewart, to give a Priesthood blessing to a Sister Jolly. It was great to see a Priesthood brother so willing to fulfill his duty and bless those in his community. We had the chance to walk with him through his neighborhood and he showed us to many of his friends that we passed by. 

 

The rest of the week we were in Falmouth and had a lot of things come up and take our time. With everything that came up, it definitely made me appreciate the work. One great lesson we had was with a member and her boyfriend. She called us around 5 and asked if we could go over to visit him and her. We shared the message of the Restoration, talking about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Her boyfriend, Nashawn, loved hearing about how the fullness of the Gospel has been restored and I hope that he will pray about the things he has learned and ask God if it is true. 

 

I know that God answers prayers. I know He loves us and will guide us to where he wants us to go. I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love you all and know that you can turn to God with the questions you have.

Tuesday we had a mission leadership meeting and it went well, took a lot from it. We got pulled from our area early Monday morning to go to Kingston, to stay the night, and then have the meeting the next day... that was a little annoying but we managed and got fed. 😋  Ok, now imagine you're working hard in a new area, trying to get used to all of the newness and  different circumstances. You love playing ping pong in the mornings and also being with the new friends you are making and then you get news that you're going back?... Back? Back where?... Back to Maypen!.. Wait, what!? Yep, I am back in Maypen. That was my last area 2 weeks ago and I took Elder Wilson with me. There have been 4 sisters there and they are going to replace us in Mandeville. The weirdest thing is that this is only for 9 days, so by next Monday, most likely, we will be back in Mandeville. Dang it gets chaotic sometimes 😅. Another week in Mandeville

This week was pretty eventful! One evening we had a member who recently returned from a mission join us in our companionship study, which me and my companion have every evening, and we did teaching role plays with him. Haha, missionaries are pretty familiar with roleplays and usually are not fond of them. It was fun with him, though, and we learned a lot! That same member also brought a friend to church! We were pretty excited to teach her after church and, oh boy, did she have questions to ask and then her own answers to give to every one. I had begun to question a bit what  her purpose of asking those questions was, but we just listened and tried to really understand where she is at with her conversion and relationship with God. We are hopeful for her!🙏  Here is one of the many things I've learned this week as well. I need to be careful playing sports... Wet and cool Mandeville

Alright well it rains more here in Mandeville than in May Pen so that's been a treat this week! I think just about everyday it's dumped rain and I no longer have a truck to take shelter in. Honestly, it has been a lot of fun and reminds me of past areas and times on my mission.  The Branch here is way fun! We had Friday  night activities and we played football for a bit. I was already sore from walking and then football did me over on the tiredness. I definitely slept well that night. Fun story though was that I slipped in the mud hard but popped back up and got around a kid with the ball and now some of the branch kids call me superman or Messi Jr. I haven't told them I'm actually not good at football yet 🤫 We also have this active, recently returned missionary who went out teaching with us and that was way sweet.
