Bye bye Montego Bay

Welp time here has been short. There is a little change of arrangement in the Zone so Elder Webb and I are moving to Falmouth!! The largest reason is because with a vehicle in that area, it will make the missionary work there a lot easier. Falmouth has a small group where we meet for church under some tents and chairs that we set up. I actually had the chance to go this Sunday and it was pretty fun. I didn't know until today that we would be running the church there from now on, hahaha. One thing I am grateful for is that Elder Webb has already served in Falmouth and he knows the area well. That will make adjusting to the area much much better.

This week we had several exchanges and they were really good! One was with Elder Gillings who is also serving in Montego Bay and it was really nice to be back on my feet some more. It was also fun to taxi! Definitely have missed the little things :) 


It was especially great because I got to do this all on my birthday! It's ok we celebrated with some great cake! On Sunday we had a mission Devotional and we sang happy birthday to everyone for the month of October. Now normally the entire mission unmutes their microphones and everyone sings Happy Birthday.  For this month it was "we", as in only Elder Webb and, sang for the entire mission! The APs asked us if we could and we put our guitars together and sang "You've Had A Birthday" (with alternate verses added) to the whole mission!

 

The next exchange was with Elder Dalton who is the new AP with Elder Samuels. We worked in their area over the phone all day... yeah it sounds like a lot of fun I know, haha, but Elder Dalton and I for sure made the best out of it that we could! 

 

Many adventures ahead and look forward to what Falmouth will look like next week! I'm excited

Tuesday we had a mission leadership meeting and it went well, took a lot from it. We got pulled from our area early Monday morning to go to Kingston, to stay the night, and then have the meeting the next day... that was a little annoying but we managed and got fed. 😋  Ok, now imagine you're working hard in a new area, trying to get used to all of the newness and  different circumstances. You love playing ping pong in the mornings and also being with the new friends you are making and then you get news that you're going back?... Back? Back where?... Back to Maypen!.. Wait, what!? Yep, I am back in Maypen. That was my last area 2 weeks ago and I took Elder Wilson with me. There have been 4 sisters there and they are going to replace us in Mandeville. The weirdest thing is that this is only for 9 days, so by next Monday, most likely, we will be back in Mandeville. Dang it gets chaotic sometimes 😅. Another week in Mandeville

This week was pretty eventful! One evening we had a member who recently returned from a mission join us in our companionship study, which me and my companion have every evening, and we did teaching role plays with him. Haha, missionaries are pretty familiar with roleplays and usually are not fond of them. It was fun with him, though, and we learned a lot! That same member also brought a friend to church! We were pretty excited to teach her after church and, oh boy, did she have questions to ask and then her own answers to give to every one. I had begun to question a bit what  her purpose of asking those questions was, but we just listened and tried to really understand where she is at with her conversion and relationship with God. We are hopeful for her!🙏  Here is one of the many things I've learned this week as well. I need to be careful playing sports... Wet and cool Mandeville

Alright well it rains more here in Mandeville than in May Pen so that's been a treat this week! I think just about everyday it's dumped rain and I no longer have a truck to take shelter in. Honestly, it has been a lot of fun and reminds me of past areas and times on my mission.  The Branch here is way fun! We had Friday  night activities and we played football for a bit. I was already sore from walking and then football did me over on the tiredness. I definitely slept well that night. Fun story though was that I slipped in the mud hard but popped back up and got around a kid with the ball and now some of the branch kids call me superman or Messi Jr. I haven't told them I'm actually not good at football yet 🤫 We also have this active, recently returned missionary who went out teaching with us and that was way sweet.
