Full Belly
Early this week I had exchanges with Elder Bishop in Buff Bay and Buff Bay is a tough area. It's a small town and a half an hour taxi to it with not much along the way. In about an hour of walking around I saw all of Buff Bay. We did meet a few cool people and it was a really good exchange.
Soon after we had our district all come to the town of Port Antonio and walk around finding for 2 hours. I was with Elder Provost and we all talked to many people during that time. I say the biggest thing I learned from it was to try and be Christlike while meeting people. Everyone's busy and has other things to do but we are trying to share a message that will change their lives. So the easiest way to show them that is to show that we do care about them and their lives because they are the ones we are trying to help.
Sunday I was the most full I have been on my mission so far. I mean I am still feeling it right now haha. We had a great sacrament meeting with many members making it back to church and a few of our friends made it as well. Then after church we had a member feed us a whole 'eap of fried chicken and rice and peas. I was pretty full from that but it was a normal full. Then later we had some dinner, leftover rice and chicken, of course. On top of that we had an amazing member who wanted to feed us but couldn't, stop by on her way home from Kingston and dropped off a rotisserie chicken and an apple pie. You know that apple pie was immediately gone and most of the chicken as well. Let me just say I am STUFFED!
Sunday evening we had a mission devotional with President Ashby in the mission presidency. He talked about the story of Mary and Martha when they hosted Christ and the Apostles. He pointed out how Martha is one that people sometimes accuse of not paying attention to the importance of Christ. But when her brother, Lazarus, died, she had faith in God's plan and that Jesus was the Christ. He shared how we cannot know who is ready to listen to the Gospel so it is so important to follow the Spirit as we do our work. Only God knows what we need to be doing so we need to seek the guidance from Him.
I loved this week and am looking forward to the next! Love you all
