Wow, I am in Jamaica

Well we had transfers this last Tuesday (the 16th) and it was a great one. It was sad to leave the Elders and people in Yallahs. Even though it was a shorter time than I thought, I loved it there. God knows where we are meant to be. At transfers, I got to see many familiar faces and I got to see Elder Schneider!

What was crazy that happened though is that we were supposed to get 16 new missionaries but they didn't come! So I was sent to Port Antonio with my temporary companion, Elder Rice. On the drive up to Port Antonio I saw what I had always expected Jamaica to be like 8 months ago! There was so much green, raining on and off, and it was just a forest. Then when we got to our apartment, just outside of town, it is across the street from the ocean! It is just beautiful here! Sadly, the apartment was an absolute mess so Elder Rice and I had to spend a large amount of time making it home.

Elder Rice and I had one day thinking it was just us two until we got the news that there were two new missionaries that made it and we were both going to train them! So we got our trainies!! I am companions with Elder Mcbride, who is from New Zealand. He had 1 transfer there in New Zealand so he already has a good headstart on missionary work but needs the adjustment to the culture, haha. Even I needed an adjustment when I got here because the patwah and accent is slightly different but that only took a few days. It is definitely crazy culture-training a new missionary because I didn't even realize that I had grown so much with the culture here. Apparently I did!!

Church was amazing this week as well. I have never tried so hard to get to know so many people! There was a very decent amount of people at church with 6 new Elders going around and meeting everyone.

I probably missed a few updates with all of the changes but things are going very good. I am excited for this transfer and this coming week! I can't wait for the people in Port Antonio to come unto Christ. Look forward to hearing about the adventures in the coming weeks!

Love you all!
