Making phone calls and seeing old friends!

This week really started off with a bang of rain all of Tuesday ... haha! So that means that all of our appointments fell through. However, since we still had the whole day and nothing to do, we decided to start calling people who used to be taught by missionaries. We did 7 hours of straight phone calls! We made over 100 calls and somehow we had fun doing it, haha. We actually were able to talk to many cool people and we completely filled the rest of our evening this week with lessons over the phone. It was unfortunate to not meet with any of our friends outside that day, but it did not stop us from getting to work!

Then finally Elder Scoresby came! He was my companion in the MTC. He is going to Dalvey with Elder Kanan. Then Elder Goddard who used to be in Dalvey is now joining Elder Driscoll and I in a trio. It has been good to see Elder Scoresby.  I also got to see my last Zone Leader, Elder Samuels! He is now the Assistant to the Mission President so I will also get to see him more as well!

I also got to see a few old friends on a mission zoom call and just happened to be looking at them while they saw me on screen! So I got to wave hi to another old ZL, Elder Stokes, and to say hi to Elder Schneider!!! Then Elder Grant, who is another old ZL haha, is staying in Kingston before he goes home, so I got to say hi to him as well this week. It's been a good week of seeing old friends.

So with the work this week it was a lot of dropped appointments and phone calls but there were some great highlights!

First, we got to visit Ricky again. He's 12 and an amazing little kid. While with him we got to meet Spence who was drunk, wouldn't stop shaking our hands, and bro hugging us ... so I got some pictures haha. Then, with Ricky, we got to teaching him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved it and when we asked him why we should live the Gospel of Jesus Christ he simply said, "I don't want to burn!" Haha, well it is a good thing we will be teaching him God's Plan of Salvation for us, but I guess that is a good enough reason for now. If anyone at home doesn't know about what we believe is God's plan for his children, don't be shy and reach out! I would love to share!

Secondly, we went to visit someone we met last week that really did not seem interested. We almost didn't go to visit her but we decided to because we promised to. When we got there, there were 2 of her friends there as well. We went to share the message of the Restoration and both of the guys were so interested. It was a very good lesson and it was a great thing we were prompted to still go.

Also I got to try some good curry cow foot! Yeah it was the foot of a cow, chopped up, and curried. Surprisingly it tasted like tapioca pudding! I also got to have curry goat for the first time as well, which was way good!

Hope everyone is doing well! Love you and miss you.
