President Odonkor came to church!!

This week started off pretty interesting with Elder Englestead leaving the quad and going to Port Antonio and Elder Kanan not getting his new companion. He was supposed to train a new Elder but the new Elder's work permit hasn't been approved yet so we were put as a trio to cover both areas. We were certain that it would be that way for the whole next transfer. We ended up only being in a trio one day in the other Elder's area and one day in Yallahs. After that we got a new Elder to come in, which was good.

Something that was amazing happened on the day we were in our area. We taught Romain, who we found on Sunday, and had an amazing lesson with him. At the end of the lesson I just asked him if he wanted to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. It was a simple invitation and he said yes! We set the date for July 30th and then explained a few more things to him and the Spirit there was so strong. He said that he knows he doesn't understand everything, but he can feel that what we were saying is good.

Then on Friday we got Elder Goddard from Guyana. He and Elder Kanan will be taking the Dalvey area again and Elder Driscoll and I are back to just Yallahs. We have been spending a lot of time teaching new people but we have been trying really hard to focus on the few solid people.

One day we had a lot of people cancel so we decided to walk to this one spot that is supposedly good for baptisms. We had to walk forever around this big pond to get there. Then once we got there, we had gone so far around the pond that we decided to just go the rest of the way around and that was a mistake! Long story short, we walked a lot, our shoes got sandy, but God blessed us with a quick taxi so we could make it to our lessons for the day!

This Sunday was pretty exciting because President Odonkor, the mission president, visited the Branch and released our Branch President. Now President Odonkor is the Branch President! I am also the Branch clerk so that will be fun! Really that just means I help with finances and the reports.

Things are looking up here. We keep meeting amazing people and continue to see God blessing and guiding us and those we are working with. Love you all and look for those blessings in your life!
