Figuring Things Out
I would say that this week was very good. It started off with exchanges with the Zone Leaders in Kingston and I went to their area with Elder Dyson. He is from England and played a lot of volleyball before the mission so we had fun talking. In Kingston they have a lot of work they are doing. They have so many people they are teaching but the thing is that they spent no time walking around to find them. Kingston is a large city so a lot of people reach out to them through Facebook. While we, in Yallahs, go out and walk all day long to find people to teach, haha. So a day driving around in Kingston was a good break for my legs.
After exchanges, Elder Driscoll and I were planning on going to this one area where we knew a few people lived but accidently took the taxi up too far and then it started dumping rain. We were soaked and disappointed but we thought we may as well go around trying to talk to people because we were already there. As we made our way back down the road we found 3 people that were interested in the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God definitely knows His children and who are ready for the Gospel because after we taught those people we went to meet with those we scheduled to visit but they didn't answer. Sometimes things happen and you don't know why. It's a good thing God knows why, haha.
It was a lot of adjusting last week, but I'm getting comfortable in the new area with all of these new people. Being a district leader was also an adjustment, but it is going well! All of the Elders in my district are good missionaries, so that really makes a leadership position very easy. The biggest difference is that I have to coordinate meetings for the district and plan times to go to the other Elder's areas. Besides that I get to go out and help in the Lord's work everyday and it is amazing. I would not trade the things I am learning for anything else. I love the people here and love you all back home as well. Take care and have a good week!
