Another Weekly

I will be straightforward this week. It has been hard but I still love it. Haha, sounds weird but really with the missionary work in my area, nothing much has happened this week. Now did I work any less hard? I don't believe so. The crazy thing about missionary work is that it is always, 100 percent, up to those we are teaching. All I can do is continue to work hard until we find the people that are ready for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We did have zone conference at the beginning of this week and that was a spiritual high! Elder Schneider and I got to give a training on recognizing the spirit and I definitely recognized the spirit during our training. There were so many times that I knew that I was being given the words to say because I kept surprising myself as I would talk, haha. In Doctrine and Covenants 84:85, it promises that you should "...treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man." I just hope that we were able to say whatever anyone there needed to hear about recognizing the spirit.

We were able to meet with a few people we are teaching throughout the week. We met with Brittany and also Martha. Brittany actually had her 17th birthday on Monday, so we bought a boxed yellow cake mix and some frosting and made a cake for her! She and her grandma really appreciated it. Then with Martha, who is 9, we visited and taught her about the Plan of Salvation and I have never seen a child so surprised to hear that we lived with Heavenly Father before we came here! I have never thought about that being something that would be surprising or exciting but when you think about it, it really is an amazing thing we get to know. That we lived with God before this life and chose to come down to earth to learn and return back to Him. After the lesson we played a quick Ludi game with her and her cousin, Taneika. Ludi is a Jamaican version of the American "Sorry" game, but what was crazy is we played it on a tablet! It was weird to think of how I know my dad played Ludi with Jamaicans when he served here and here I was playing it, but on a tablet!

After 4.5 months, I am still going to towns I haven't been to before. We went to Treasure Beach and really the summary of that was that there were nice beaches and it was a ghost town. Apparently, because of the holiday weekend we have here in Jamaica, no one wants to be outside or hanging out at their house ... so there was practically nobody there. It was a long taxi ride to get there but maybe we will go again sometime in the next 6 weeks or so. Oh yeah, we got transfer news and I am going to be enjoying another transfer in Junction! Haha I am excited because I also get to be with Elder Schneider again, so it will be good.

Hope you all have a good week and try to recognize the spirit. God is leading and guiding us all so seek and expect it. Love you all!
