Ok now this is cold...🥶
Another week has flown by so here's another email! Half way through this transfer and I can't believe it. With that I have definitely realized how much of a blessing it was to have a baptism early in my mission because these last few weeks have been a bit slower. HOWEVER, the miracles have not ceased. One thing I feel like has been brought up over and over is to look for these miracles. Here is a few...
We got snow!! May not have been a white Christmas, but this year started right with a nice snow with wind chills that brought the temperature to negatives 6 to 10!! It was awesome and honestly so much fun. It has been so funny to talk with my companion about living in the cold because he is from Utah and I've never lived with snow before. Sure I've gone snowboarding, so I have seen snow but there has been so many things that I have never thought about before. I can't remember but my companion has gotten a few good laughs.
So because of the cold, there were even less students at the college we street contact at, but because of this we drove around the campus and found these 2 ladies in their car as well. We taught them a little bit set up a return appointment and they said they would come to church!
After the cold by Sunday the roads were pretty icy in some areas and church was canceled this last weekend. Now I haven't seen the full extent of this but I do know that it will test those we had committed to come to church to see if they will be willing to hold out till next week. To the worldly perspective these probably would not be perceived as the best of miracles haha. But when we can see the good in all the trials we are given, it can help you through them so much more!!
Another miracle was in one of our lessons we had! First off it was over zoom and technology truly has multiplied the effectiveness of missionary work. Normally this less active member wouldn't have time or be too busy to meet with the missionaries but our schedules worked out and we got a lesson with her! Then earlier in the day before the lesson we got a text saying that her fiancé, who is not religious, was going to join the lesson!! We were able to teach them about miracles and the importance of prayer.
Besides miracles and snow haha there were a couple other fun things this week. So I learned that my companion has never had Chipotle before!! And I guess it is another miracle, but my parents got me a Chipotle gift card for Christmas so I got to take him one night for dinner. We also got to experiment with one of Elder Henrie's gifts and make a ping pong table out of our weekly planning white board! Didn't work that well but the thought was there. Also just Saturday our dryer broke so hopefully that gets figured out before I have to do laundry again haha.
Ether 12:12 "For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith." God loves us so much and he wants to bless us! But we must look, recognize and show our gratitude for them if they are to actually effect our lives. I have seen this in my own life and recently in the lives of those I am serving!
Wish everyone the best as we are thankful for the past year and look forward to incoming 2022! Love you guys!
