Another week in Mandeville

This week was pretty eventful! One evening we had a member who recently returned from a mission join us in our companionship study, which me and my companion have every evening, and we did teaching role plays with him. Haha, missionaries are pretty familiar with roleplays and usually are not fond of them. It was fun with him, though, and we learned a lot! That same member also brought a friend to church! We were pretty excited to teach her after church and, oh boy, did she have questions to ask and then her own answers to give to every one. I had begun to question a bit what  her purpose of asking those questions was, but we just listened and tried to really understand where she is at with her conversion and relationship with God. We are hopeful for her!🙏  Here is one of the many things I've learned this week as well. I need to be careful playing sports... Alright, sorry about last week

So I am back in Jamaica! I have missed it here, that's for sure. Being in the culture and being around the people has brought back a lot of good feelings. I feel like my adjustment hasn't been too bad but we did come back and forth between Islands a lot for the last few months. I have a new companion and his name is Elder Blackwood! He is from Yallahs and actually decided to serve his mission when I was there in his home branch. He was a great youth when I was there last year and it's so cool to be training him into his mission. He was originally assigned to the Ivory Coast, Africa Mission but will be here for 6 weeks before he goes to the MTC in Ghana.  We have been really focusing on teaching the people the good word of God. Teaching from the scriptures to everyone recently has brought a lot of miracles. It's cold but I love it!

With this week's email I kind of want to start off with the spoiler of the week. Elder Henrie and I had our first friend baptized this Sunday!! She is awesome and honestly has taught me a lot about what a testimony of and trust in Jesus Christ really is. She truly trusts in him in all that she does and is the most excited person I have ever seen for baptism. She was referred to us last week by some elders in another zone and we are so glad we were given the chance to teach her and prepare her for baptism! That was the highlight haha, here's the rest of the week.  It is so cold! 🥶 And it's not even the worse part yet. Also not much snow either which is a little sad. It just gets very very windy and cold through the winter. With that in mind, we went caroling twice this week! It was actually really fun and cool though.
